Metaboflux is a generic approach for predicting flux distribution in metabolic networks under multiple and various constraints deducted from the experiments, to increase the biological relevance of the model. Metaboflux aims to provide a complete environnement to study the interaction and constraints of a metabolic network.
Metaboflux is available as an user-friendly interface and a command line program. This two form results from the questions that raise during its developpement. The command line version is optimized to run on HPC servers and has been succesfully used to analyse complex models on Plafrim HPC. The interface version is useful to define model parameters and run simple computation on a pc. Distant computation using socket interface can also be done.
Metaboflux has been firstly used to understand some part of Trypanosoma brucei glucose metabolic network. But Metaboflux is generic as it use metabolic network at SBML format and can be apply to other subjects. Moreover it is now possible to combine Metaboflux analysis with Systrip software.
